Thank You!





We wanted to say a big thank you to each and every one of our dancers and parent volunteers during last week's Spring Concert 2012. We could not be more proud of all of our students and we hope you had as much fun up on the stage as we had watching you all shine! 

Because of your generosity, we were able to raise $1000 to donate through the Children's Miracle Network benefiting the Pediatric Oncology unit at Hurley Hospital in Flint. THANK YOU for finding it in you hearts to help make a difference in our community!

Don't forget to register now for Spring & Summer Classes! They will fill fast, so make sure to do so during this last week of class! Don't forget, classes continue as usual through this Saturday, May 19th. Getting dancers into class over the Spring & Summer will improve their technique and keep them moving forward in working on becoming a better dancer. It will also better prepare those dancers who will be auditioning for one of our amazing Companies, August 28th & 29th. SPRING 2012
JUNE CLASS FOR AGES 5 & UP!

Tuesdays: June 5, 12, 19 & 26
Class #1: Pre-Jazz, Tap & Hip Hop (Ages 5 - 7): 4:30 – 6 p.m.
Class #2: Jazz, Tap & Hip Hop (Ages 8 - 12): 6 – 7:30 p.m.

Wednesdays: June 6, 13, 20, 27
Class #1: Jazz Intensive (Ages 13 & up): 5 – 6 p.m.
Class #2: Contemporary Intensive (Ages 13 & up): 6 – 7 p.m.
Class #3: Hip Hop Intensive (Ages 13 & up): 7 – 8 p.m.

Cost:
·         Tuesday June classes: $60 per class
·         Wednesday June classes: $40 per class
No refunds or discounts given for missed classes

JULY CLASSES FOR AGES 8 & UP!


Ages 8 – 12: Tuesdays: July 10th, July 17th, July 24th & July 31st
Class #1: Stretch & Strength:  5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Class #2: Turns & Leaps: 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Class #3: Intermediate Tap: 7:30 – 8:30

Ages 13 & Up: Wednesdays: July 11th, July 18th, July 25th & August 1st
Class #1: Stretch & Strength:  5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Class #2: Turns & Leaps: 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Class #3: Advanced Tap: 7:30 – 8:30

Why? All classes are designed to strengthen the dancer’s technique and flexibility to help them in their classes next year, and also to prepare them for company auditions August 28th & 29th 2012!

Cost: $140 for all three classes!

Concert 2012





Here is the schedule for our Spring Concert week! Everyone is doing such a great job, we are so proud and can't wait to see the show put together and on the stage soon! Keep up the hard work and ENJOY YOUR TIME IN THE SPOTLIGHT! 

  • Don't forget classes run as usual through this Sunday, May6th. 
  • Starting Monday, May 7th all rehearsals are held at the U of M -Flint Theatre.  The University Theatre is located at the corner of Wallenberg and Kearsley Streets downtown Flint. 
Monday, May 7th: Company, Funkdafied & Adagio Rehearsal 
  • Starting at 5 p.m. No costumes. This is to block and rehearsal all Company, Funkdafied & Adagio dances on the U of M Flint stage. Be ready to begin at 5 p.m. sharp.
Tuesday, May 8th: FULL COSTUME DRESS REHEARSAL
  • Rehearsal Schedule
    • 3 & 4's who dance in the Thursday Evening, Saturday Matinee & Sunday Matinee Shows: Start at 4 p.m.
    • 5, 6 & 7's who dance in the Thursday Evening, Saturday Matinee & Sunday Matinee Shows; Start at 4:30 p.m.
    • Advanced Hip Hop dancers must be at the Theatre ready to rehearse that dance with the 5,6 & 7's Hip Hop at 5 p.m.
    • All 8, 9 & 10, Teen and Company Dancers: Start at 5:30 p.m. We will start with running the Finale first. Then the 3 - 7 year old dancers will be excused and we will start at the beginning of the show in order stopping to block and fix any issues with the dances. 
    • This will be our longest night. So make sure to bring snacks and plenty of water. We will go as fast as we can!
Wednesday, May 9th: FULL COSTUME DRESS REHEARSAL
  • Rehearsal Schedule
    • 3 & 4's who dance in the Friday & Saturday Evening Shows: Start at 4 p.m.
    • 5, 6 & 7's who dance in the Friday & Saturday Evening Shows: Start at 4:30 p.m.
    • Advanced Hip Hop dancers must be at the Theatre ready to rehearse that dance with the 5, 6 & 7's Hip Hop at 5 p.m.
    • All 8, 9 & 10, Teen and Company Dancers: Start at 5:30 p.m. We will start with running the Finale first. Then the 3 - 7 year old dancers will be excused and we will start at the beginning of the show in order. This rehearsal runs continuously unless an emergency situation arises. It will run very close to the exact length of the show!
      • All dancers will be backstage during this rehearsal! 
Thursday, May 10th: 1st Show
  • Dancers called by 6 p.m.
  • Evening Show starts at 7 p.m.
Friday, May 11th: 2nd Show
  • Dancers called by 6 p.m.
  • Evening Show starts at 7 p.m.
Saturday, May 12th: 3rd  & 4th Shows
  • Dancers called by 1 p.m.
  • Matinee Show starts at 2 p.m.
  • Dancers called by 6 p.m.
  • Evening Show starts at 7 p.m.
Sunday, May 13th: 5th Show!
  • Dancers called by 1 p.m.
  • Matinee Show starts at 2 p.m.
DON'T FORGET CLASSES CONTINUE AT THE STUDIO FOLLOWING THE SHOW THROUGH SATURDAY, MAY 19TH! 

  • Handouts are going on now for our Spring & Summer Dance classes! Make sure to register for these now at the studio or in the lobby during the show! 
  • Also, a big thank you to all of the Parent volunteers who are signed up to work backstage or as ushers. We truly could not do this without you! We do still need a few more people to work backstage during our Wednesday dress rehearsal and during the Saturday Evening show. Please sign up at the studio asap if you are interested! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! THIS IS GOING TO BE AN AMAZING SHOW!
