Visitation week, Semester #1 & Recital Fee!

VISITATION WEEK: Don't forget that this week is our yearly VISITATION WEEK! This means that parents are free to come view your dancers classes and see what they have been learning so far this season! *There will be no visitation on Wednesday for Blue or Red Co. due to the Company Holiday Party.

SEMESTER #1: We are approaching the end of our first semester! Make sure to get your accounts paid up in full so that your dancer will be able to return in January to finish up the season! 

UPDATED STATEMENTS & RECITAL FEE REMINDER: Everyone will be receiving statements this week in the mail and they will have information about the RECITAL FEE that is due with your January payment! If you need your account balance before your statement arrives, please email Mitch at mitch.decamp@yahoo.com

2014 - 2015 Dance Season!

We are so excited that our 12th season is quickly approaching! Our Open House has come and gone, but we are still registering over the phone while spots last!

  • Company Auditions: August 26th & 27th
    • Dancers are split into 2 levels based on age and ability. 8 -12 (Level 1) 13 & Up (Level 2). You can always drop down a level, but to be moved up, you must be given permission by Lindsay or Dede.
    •  You will learn 3 combinations on the 26th (Lyrical, Jazz & Tap) and then you will return on the 27th at an assigned time to audition those combinations in front of a judges panel.

CONGRATS!

We are so proud of each and every one of our AMAZING dancers! We truly have the best dancers, staff and dance mom & dads around. Thank you all for making our 11th annual Spring Concert a huge success!

We will be putting in the re-order for t shirts and dance shorts that we sold out of the sizes by the end of this week. Please let me know if you'd like to add any items! Email the studio at decampspotlight@yahoo.com. Also, don't forget to sign up this week at the studio for June & July classes before they are full!

Don't forget today, Monday, May 12th is our day of rest!  Tomorrow we resume classes at the studio until Saturday! Dancers will be able to see themselves in the show and will learn some fun new choreography. Company dancers: Your viewing party is Tuesday at 7:15. If you are in the Monday Hip Hop class today, don't forget that you are welcome to come to either Thursday's Advanced Hip hop class from 7 - 7:45 or Saturday's Hip Hop class from 1:30 - 2:15. 

We hope to see everyone in the studio this week!

Concert 2014

We had no choice but to cancel Thursday's 7 p.m. show due to the power outage and the University closure. Thursday's show will be moved to SUNDAY EVENING AT 6 P.M. We are so sorry for any inconvenience this may cause; but this was out of our control. Since the University is officially closed we could not obtain permission to re-open even if the lights came on in time for us to start at this point. Thank you so much for understanding and your participation to make Sunday's 6 pm show a success!

Print a copy of the show order for your dancer to keep with them backstage! 

We are officially SOLD OUT of tickets for all 5 shows of Concert 2014. We are so excited for everyone to see the show, and to see all of our students shine up in the SPOTLIGHT! There will be a sheet posted at the Theatre to help assist in the re-sale of tickets. Please remember that all re-sales will be handled between ticket holders.

Don't forget that classes continue in the studio until Sunday May 4th. Starting Monday, May 5th all rehearsals will be down at the U of M Flint Theatre. 


CONCERT 2014 REHEARSAL & PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE!
Don't forget about next weeks Spring Concert rehearsals and shows! Everything scheduled this week is held at the U of M Flint Theatre. There are NO CLASSES held at the studio next week! The schedule is as follows:

Monday: May 5th

  • 5:00 p.m.: Red, White & Blue Company, Adagio & Funkdafied dancers only! (No costumes on this day)
Tuesday: May 6th - Full costume dress rehearsal! This will be our longest night! Thank you for your patience and cooperation!! Dancers will be allowed to sit in the audience when they are not dancing at this rehearsal. 

  • 4:00 p.m.: Miss Kacy's Saturday 10 a.m. & 11 a.m. 3 & 4's
  • 4:30 p.m.: Miss Brittany's Saturday 5, 6 & 7's
  • 5:30 p.m.: All other dancers in 8, 9 & 10's and UP! 
    • Starting at 5:30 we will run through the Finale with ALL DANCERS. Once this is through and all announcements are made, we will excuse the 3 -7 year old dancers and then start at the top of the show. This will be a late night. We will have to stop and start to make sure all 8 and Up non-company dances are blocked on stage for the dancers. 
      • Once dancers have done all of their routines they will be free to leave because we already ran through the Finale at 5:30! 
Wednesday: May 7th- Full costume dress rehearsal! This rehearsal will run as close to the show as possible! Feel free to come and watch! Having an audience makes it a more real experience for the dancers and there is no charge! We also are in need of parent volunteers to help with the dancers backstage for this rehearsal. Dancers will NOT be allowed in the audience because we treat this just like a show!
  • 4:00 p.m.: Miss Amber's Tuesday 3 & 4's and Miss Chelsea's Thursday 3 & 4's
  • 4:30 p.m. Miss Kacy's Tuesday 5, 6 & 7's
  • 5:30 p.m.: All other dancers in 8, 9 & 10's and UP!
    • Starting at 5:30 we will run through the Finale with ALL DANCERS. Once this is through and all announcements are made, we will excuse the 3 -7 year old dancers and then start at the top of the show. We only stop if there is an emergency reason, we should be out by a good time on this night! 
Thursday: May 8th: UPDATE* This show was cancelled due to the University closure and IS RESCHEDULED FOR SUNDAY, MAY 11TH @ 6 P.M.

Friday: May 9th
  • Dancers called at 6 p.m.
  • Show starts at 7 p.m.
Saturday: May 10th
  • Dancers called for the Matinee at 12 noon
  • Matinee at 1 p.m.
  • Dancers called for the Evening show at 5 p.m.
  • Evening shows at 6 p.m.
Sunday: May 11th
  • Dancers called for the Matinee at 12 noon
  • Matinee at 1 p.m.
  • *NEW* 6 p.m. show is the make-up day from the Thursday closure. Dancers called at 5 p.m.
  • Evening Show at 6 p.m.
If you are signed up to work as an Usher or Backstage we will need you to be at the Theatre 1 hour prior to the start of the show and find Stacy Koresh. Stacy is our backstage coordinator and she will give you direction from there!

Just a reminder about SUNDAY'S TICKET SALES and MONDAY'S MAKE UP PICTURE DAY. 

CONCERT TICKET SALES 2014
You should have already received your initial set of tickets that you receive with your recital fee. If you have not done so, you MUST do this prior to Sunday's rehearsal. Please call Stacy at 810-695-7847. Stacy will also be handling additional ticket sales starting Monday, April 14th. Tickets can be ordered over the phone Monday - Thursday from 6:30 - 8 p.m while they last!

*You can start purchasing additional tickets for $15 per ticket on Sunday April 13th from 1- 3:30 p.m. Please try to spread you family and friends throughout all 5 shows. We want everyone to enjoy the show, and hope we can all work together to make that possible.

*PLEASE NOTE: TO HELP WITH THE HIGH DEMAND FOR FRIDAY & SATURDAY NIGHT’S TICKETS AND TO HELP SPREAD THESE TICKETS AMONG OUR SPOTLIGHT FAMILIES, WE WILL BE LIMITING TICKET SALES ON APRIL 13TH TO A MAXIMUM PURCHASES OF 6 EXTRA TICKETS PER SHOW FOR FRIDAY & SATURDAY NIGHT’S SHOWS ALL OTHER SHOWS WILL HAVE NO LIMITS ON HOW MANY YOU WILL BE ABLE TO BUY. Pictures & Ticket Sales

Just a reminder about this next weekends important events: Non-Company Picture day on Saturday, March 29th & Ticket Sales Sunday, March 30th. The schedules again are below:

TICKETS SALES 2014 begin Sunday, March 30th from 1- 3:30. You have gotten a handout with this information already, but in case you've misplaced it, here it is again! 

  • Don't forget that if you'd like to sign up to work backstage or as an usher for any of our shows they will be posted on Monday, March 24th. In doing this we hope it is easier for you to select your initial set of tickets as you will already know when/if you are volunteering. The backstage sign up sheets will be posted in the studio that your child attends class in, and the Usher sign-up sheets will be up at the Main Studio only. Feel free to come in and sign up at either studio during open studio hours during that week. As in years past, we would like to request that you only sign up to volunteer backstage for 1 show and to usher for 1 show, should we need more help we will definitely reach out to those that have volunteered to see if they would like to fill in the open slots. Thank you so much for your help! We truly couldn’t do it without you!!!
  • Want to buy an AD for your dancer of business!? We will start selling these on March 29th at Non- Company Picture day & March 30th during ticket sales! *All Ads’ must be received by Sunday, April 13th



CONCERT TICKET SALES 2014
